Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has made a strong case for investment in the state, declaring that there is no better place for entrepreneurship and investment in Nigeria. Otti made this assertion while receiving a delegation from the US Market Access Centre, led by CEO Mr. Chris Burry, at the Government House in Umuahia.
The governor expressed his administration’s willingness to partner with the US-based firm to harness the vast potential and human energy in Aba, the commercial hub of the state. He noted that the company’s proposal aligns with his administration’s vision, emphasizing that Abia is poised for rapid development.
Otti invited the team to visit Aba and see the opportunities firsthand, stressing the importance of evidence-based findings. “I want it to be evidence-based. So, go to Ariaria, go to other markets in Aba, you will see things for yourself,” he said.
The governor has commissioned the Commissioner for Science, Technology, and Innovation, Mr. David Kalu, to work with the US Market Access Centre to explore areas of collaboration. Otti reiterated his administration’s commitment to developing Abia’s potential, creating wealth, and lifting the people out of poverty.
Mr. Chris Burry, leader of the delegation, praised Governor Otti’s innovative approach, stating that Abia is the first state they are visiting with their proposal. The US Market Access Centre is interested in investing in entrepreneurship development, skills acquisition, and various technological areas, including entrepreneurship education.
This development is a significant boost to Abia State’s investment profile, as Governor Otti continues to showcase the state’s potential for economic growth and development.
