A joint effort by the Ondo State Police Command has resulted in the arrest of 25 individuals connected to the recent cult clash in Owo, Ondo State, where four lives were lost. This development comes as the police also apprehended a father, Elela Monday, for allegedly killing his 14-year-old son, Tope Elela, due to the boy’s involvement in criminal activities.

According to State Police Commissioner Wilfred Afolabi, Monday confessed to the crime, stating that he and his wife decided to kill their son to prevent further family embarrassment. The incident occurred at Ajowa Akoko in the Akoko North-West Local Government Area.

One of the suspects, 28-year-old Olamide Ogunseyila, confessed to being a member of a cult group. The remaining suspects are undergoing interrogation to determine their roles in the crisis.

The police are intensifying efforts to apprehend Steven Dada (alias “Ogodo”) and other individuals connected to the cult activities. This development brings the total number of arrests related to the cult clash to 25, following an initial report of 19 arrests.
