Governor Bala Mohammed Reshuffles Bauchi Cabinet, Dismisses Five Commissioners

In a strategic move to enhance governance and optimize service delivery, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has relieved five commissioners of their duties as part of a cabinet reshuffle. This development, announced on Tuesday in a statement by the governor’s media aide, Mukhtar Gidado, underscores the administration’s resolve to address emerging challenges and inject fresh perspectives into the state’s governance framework.

The affected commissioners include Dr. Jamila Dahiru (Education), Abubakar Bununu (Internal Security and Home Affairs), Usman Danturaki (Information and Communication), Prof. Simon Yalams (Agriculture), and Yakubu Hamza (Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation).

According to Gidado, the decision is in line with Governor Mohammed’s vision of reinvigorating government operations to achieve greater efficiency.

“In a strategic effort to reinvigorate governance and ensure optimal service delivery to the people of Bauchi State, His Excellency has approved the reconstitution of his cabinet. Five commissioners were relieved of their duties as part of this routine measure to enhance the administration’s effectiveness,” the statement read.

The governor extended his gratitude to the outgoing commissioners for their service and dedication to the development of Bauchi State. Gidado emphasized that their contributions were instrumental in advancing key initiatives and policies of the administration, wishing them success in their future endeavors.

In a parallel move, Governor Mohammed has forwarded a list of eight nominees to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for consideration and approval as commissioners. The nominees are Isa Tilde, Abdullahi Mohammed, Dr. Bala Lukshi, Usman Shehu, Iliyasu Gital, Prof. Titus Ketkukah, Adamu Gabarin, and Dr. Mohammed Lawal.

This reshuffle, Gidado noted, is part of the administration’s broader strategy to align its leadership team with its developmental priorities and objectives.

“The administration remains steadfast in its commitment to fulfilling its mandate, delivering impactful development, and improving the welfare of all citizens,” he added.

The cabinet reshuffle highlights the governor’s focus on leveraging innovation and expertise to strengthen government machinery, ensuring Bauchi State continues on a trajectory of growth and sustainable development.
