United Nigeria Airlines has announced a disruption in its flight operations after a passenger allegedly physically assaulted one of its crew members at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
According to a press statement issued by the airline, the incident occurred on Thursday, December 19, 2024, when a flight from Lagos to Asaba, Delta State, was about to take off. The airline described the passenger’s behavior as “unruly” and stated that the incident caused a delay of several hours.
The airline apologized for the disruption, which may have affected its operations across the country. The statement emphasized that physical or verbal assault against crew members is a serious offense under international aviation laws and is strictly prohibited.
