Dismissed Soldier, 7 Others Arrested for Alleged Robbery and Fraud in Enugu

 

The Enugu State Police Command has announced the arrest of a dismissed soldier, Sadik Ahmed, and seven other suspects for their alleged involvement in armed robbery and financial fraud. The arrest was made possible through a coordinated operation involving the Emene Division, Crack and Octopus Tactical Squads, and the Neighbourhood Watch Group.

According to DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the Command’s spokesperson, the operation commenced on November 12, 2024, after operatives responded to a distress call regarding an armed robbery at an estate in Emene. Ismaila Isah, one of the suspects, was apprehended with a locally made pistol, N300,450, and some stolen items.

Further investigations led to the arrest of seven other suspects, including Sadik Ahmed, a dismissed soldier. The suspects confessed to committing multiple armed robberies and using stolen phones to fraudulently withdraw funds from victims’ bank accounts.

Recovered Items:

– Two locally made pistols loaded with live and expended cartridges
– N300,450 in cash
– 10 laptops
– Land documents
– 10 mobile phones
– Assorted jewelry and watches
– One MP3 player
– One headphone
– Four power banks
– Two SIM cards
– Footwear and bags

The suspects will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
