Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has named renowned international journalist and media professional Sulaiman Aledeh as the new Managing Director of the state-owned Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS) TV and Radio. The appointment, effective immediately, underscores the governor’s commitment to revitalizing the state’s media landscape.

With over 20 years of experience in global media, Aledeh has carved a niche in broadcast journalism, contributing to world-class networks such as Al Jazeera, SABC, and GB News UK. He currently anchors programs on Arise News and shares his expertise on Classic FM.

Aledeh’s journalism career began as a Philosophy undergraduate at the University of Benin, where he worked at EBS. During his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Ebonyi State, he broke new ground as the first corps member to anchor the station’s main news bulletin. His career later spanned roles at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria and major national television outlets, including TVC and Channels Television, where he anchored flagship news programs and led innovative shows like Politics HQ and Village Square Africa.

Beyond journalism, Aledeh has demonstrated leadership in strategic communication as the Assistant General Manager and Head of Media and Communications at Eko Disco. His qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Humanitarian and Refugee Studies from the University of Lagos, alongside certifications in public relations and voice expertise.

A passionate storyteller, Aledeh has conducted over 12,000 interviews and lent his voice to major brands like MTN, Glo, and DSTV. His contributions to media innovation include founding Aledeh Media Network, which operates the online news platform gatekeepersnews.com.

A U.S. State Department International Visitors’ Leadership Programme alumnus and a published researcher, Aledeh’s work spans mental health, cyberbullying prevention, and the role of media in societal development. His expertise is expected to drive EBS into a new era of impactful journalism and media excellence.

This appointment positions EBS as a key player in shaping the media narrative in Edo State and beyond.
