The Executive Chairman of Igbo Etiti Local Government Area in Enugu State, Hon. Dr. Eric Ogbonna Odo, has appointed two Senior Special Assistants (SSA) focusing on specific agricultural produce.
According to appointment letters circulating on social media, Ezeugwu Frederick Ogbonna has been named SSA on Yam and Pepper, while Nwodo Everestus Ugonna was appointed SSA on Garden Egg and Pepper.

Similarly, Ezeugwu’s letter reads, “I am pleased to inform you that the executive chairman Igbo Etiti LGA has approved your appointment as SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANT to the Local Government chairman on AGRICULTURE (YAM & PEPPER).”
In a mission statement attributed to Odo, he expressed a vision to lead the “most progressive local government area in sub-Saharan Africa.”
The statement outlines his goals: “My vision: To administer the most progressive local government area in sub-Saharan Africa. My mission: To create an efficient local government system that respects, honour and develop the various communities in all ramifications according to the limit of resources available if elected.”
Odo also emphasized his commitment to transformative leadership, stating, “I hope to take difficult and courageous decisions so as to unlock the huge human capital and natural resource potentials in the Local Government Area.”
The appointments, described in the letters as temporary and held at the pleasure of the Executive Chairman, have sparked mixed reactions on social media.
