Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has revealed the extraordinary circumstances surrounding his triumph in the September 21 governorship election. During his post-swearing-in Thanksgiving Service at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Okpebholo credited his victory to God’s grace, constant prayers, and the unwavering support of the Edo people.
Okpebholo shared a remarkable testimony, recounting how he discovered a dead bat on his bed just before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him the winner. “I want to thank God… I took the battle to God because I knew the secret,” he said, emphasizing his trust in divine intervention.
The Governor expressed gratitude to men of God who prayed for him and those who believed in the power of faith. He urged Nigerians to trust in God, regardless of life’s challenges, advising, “Trust in God alone, because He will do it for you.”
Notably, Okpebholo emphasized that he didn’t consult native doctors, prophets, or visit shrines during his campaign, relying solely on divine guidance.
