The Edo State Government has announced a sweeping dissolution of all executives across boards, agencies, and parastatals in the state’s public service.
In a press release issued today, Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo ordered the immediate termination of these appointments, along with the dismissal of political appointees and permanent secretaries appointed externally.
According to the official statement by Chief Press Secretary Hon. Fred Itua, “The Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo has approved the dissolution of Executives of all Boards, Agencies, and Parastatals in Edo State Public Service with immediate effect.”
The directive also requires that “all affected appointees hand over all government properties in their possession to the most senior Public Officer in their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.”
This move is seen as part of broader efforts to restructure the state’s public service sector, although no further details have been provided on subsequent replacements.
