Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, visited troops of Operation Fansar Yamma in Zamfara State on Thursday, October 24, 2024, and directed them to apprehend the notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji.
Addressing the troops at the One Brigade Headquarters in Gusau, Badaru relayed President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing support and monitoring of their activities. According to him, Tinubu has observed improvements in counter-terrorism efforts over recent months, yet challenges persist. The Minister conveyed the President’s encouragement, saying, “He, therefore, urged me to thank you and to urge you to do more to end insecurity in these areas of operation and the country. He is ready to provide all you need to end insecurity in the Northwest and Nigeria.”
Badaru expressed confidence after discussions with the commander officer, feeling assured that their objectives were within reach. Emphasizing his trust in the troops, he asked, “Are you ready to finish with them? Are you ready to end it? Please get me Turji.”
During his visit, Badaru took briefings on military operations from officials in Operation Fansar Yamma, headquartered in Gusau. He was welcomed by Major General Oluyinka Soyele, Commander of the Joint Taskforce Northwest Operation Fansar Yamma, and other dignitaries, including Zamfara State’s Deputy Governor, Mani Mumuni.
