The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vehemently rejected the recent hike in fuel price to as high as N1,000 per litre in some parts of the country, describing it as a “brutal assault” on the sensibilities and wellbeing of Nigerians. The opposition party attributed the blame to the “insensitive and arrogant” administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement released by its National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the PDP expressed deep concern over the timing and manner of the price increase, which it described as “thoughtless” and potentially explosive. The party warned that the escalation in fuel costs could exacerbate the already dire economic conditions facing Nigerians, leading to widespread unrest and further destabilizing the country.
The PDP criticized the APC government for its “anti-people” policies, citing the catastrophic high cost of living, poverty, and unemployment rates. The party called on President Tinubu to immediately reverse the latest fuel price increase and revisit all life-discounting and suffocating policies of the APC government.
