The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has introduced a standardized uniform and kits for Supernumerary Police, also known as Spy Police, to enhance their professionalism and visibility.
At the unveiling, Egbetokun, represented by Deputy Inspector General Bala Ciroma, directed all police training schools to adopt the new uniform model.
He explained, “In accordance with the Police Act 2020, we engaged Messrs Synveego Nigeria Limited to standardize and redesign SPY uniforms, ensuring our spy personnel present a professional image and preventing abuse of regular Police uniforms.”
Egbetokun continued, “We are delighted to unveil a meticulously crafted design endorsed by the Force Management Team. I am pleased to formally relaunch the new standardized spu uniform and kits.”
He emphasized, “All organizations using SPY Police personnel must adhere to these new standardized uniforms. The Force Quartermaster and personnel will guide registration and acquisition, and all Police Training Schools must adopt the new uniform model for SPY Police personnel.”
