In a significant operation, troops from Operation Hadin Kai, backed by the Hybrid Force and Civilian Joint Task Force, neutralized three Boko Haram terrorists, including the notorious commander Abu Rijab, in the Sambisa Forest on Saturday.
The successful operation targeted the terrorists’ camp in the Bula Daloje area of Bama Local Government Area, resulting in the elimination of key insurgent leaders. According to counter-insurgency expert and security analyst Zagazola Makama, intelligence sources revealed that the troops faced resistance and an ambush en route, leading to a heavy gunbattle.
Despite the attack, the troops fought back, killing several terrorists and forcing others to withdraw. The operation yielded the recovery of two AK-47 rifles and a mobile phone, a notable achievement in the ongoing counter-insurgency efforts in the Lake Chad region.
Tragically, one member of the Hybrid Force was fatally wounded during the operation and later succumbed to their injuries, making the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. This operation marks a significant blow to Boko Haram’s operations in the region.
