Makurdi, Benue State – In a dramatic move, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has suspended three top officials from its State Working Committee for a month, effective immediately. The affected officials are:
1. State Chairman, John Ngbede
2. State Secretary, Joseph Nyam
3. State Organizing Secretary, Moses Audu
The suspension was decided at an extraordinary meeting of the State Working Committee on Saturday, August 3, 2024, attended by 9 out of 13 members. The officials are accused of:
– Forging and impersonating the State Working Committee for personal gain
– Instigating violence and crisis during the recent ward congresses
– Mismanaging party finances
They have been directed to appear before the party’s Disciplinary Committee to answer to the charges within the suspension period. Meanwhile, State Deputy Chairman Isaac Mffo has taken over as Acting State Chairman. The PDP has urged its members and the public to take note of this development.
