Edo Deputy Governor Shaibu Appoints New Aides After Court Reinstatement

Reinstated Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu has appointed eight individuals to support him in his duties.

A statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Musa Ebomhiana, announced the appointments of nine officials as Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants.

The appointees include Kingsley Ehigiamusor as Chief of Staff, Musa Ebomhiana as Chief Press Secretary, and Emmanuel Akhaba, Mustapha Lawal, and Charles Olubayo as Senior Special Assistants. Mathias Akhanemhe, Robinson Akhenoba, Robert Ojele, and Isioma Ogochukwu were appointed as Special Assistants.

The statement says the appointments take immediate effect.

Shaibu’s reinstatement comes after he was impeached by the state assembly in April 2024.

Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja reinstated Shaibu as Deputy Governor on Wednesday, declaring his impeachment null and void.
