Member of the House of Representatives, Ekene Abubakar Adams, has died at the age of 39. He represented the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency of Kaduna State under the Labour Party and was the Chairman of the House Committee on Sports.
According to the House spokesman, Akin Rotimi, Adams was a dedicated public servant, passionate sports administrator, and kind philanthropist who will be deeply missed. His death follows the loss of Representative Olaide Akinremi from Oyo state in the Green Chamber, making him the fourth member to pass away in the 10th House of Representatives.
Before his tenure in the House, Adams was the general manager of Kada City Football Club and Remo Stars. Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has expressed sadness over the death of Adams, describing his untimely death as a tragic loss to the nation.
