A devastating motor accident occurred at Kanya Market in Jigawa State on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of 14 passengers and leaving four others injured. The Jigawa Police Command confirmed the incident in a statement released by the Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Adam.
According to the statement, a Daf truck and a Toyota Hiace vehicle collided head-on at an immigration checkpoint when the driver of the Toyota Hiace attempted to bypass the checkpoint and lost control. The accident resulted in instant death for 14 passengers, while four others sustained severe injuries.
The injured victims are currently receiving medical attention at Kanya Babba Cottage Hospital, while an investigation into the incident has commenced. The police have urged witnesses to come forward with any information that may aid in the investigation.
