In a successful sting operation, Nigerian Army troops have neutralized a terrorist, recovered weapons, and destroyed terrorist camps in Ikiyayo Forest, Taraba State. Acting on intelligence reports, the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS) launched a raid in the early hours of July 7, 2024, targeting terrorist hideouts and camps.
The troops encountered the terrorists in a heavy gunfight, resulting in the neutralization of one terrorist. Recovered items include an AK-47 rifle, magazine, and 39 rounds of ammunition. Multiple terrorist camps were also destroyed.
