The former Director-General of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign, Doyin Okupe, has likened President Bola Tinubu to Jesus Christ, suggesting that the President voluntarily came to “save” Nigeria from its economic woes and disasters.
This was disclosed in a video circulating on social media, Doyin Okupe made this assertion during an interactive program with Channels TV, claiming that Tinubu was in “heaven” when God was seeking a savior for Nigeria and that Tinubu showed interest in the mission.
According to her; “Tinubu is like Jesus Christ who volunteered to come to the world to save mankind (Nigeria).” He further elaborated that Tinubu’s decision to lead the country was a selfless act, driven by a desire to rescue Nigeria from its challenges.
Doyin Okupe’s statement has generated a firestorm of reactions, with many expressing shock and disbelief at the comparison and criticized the analogy as blasphemous and disrespectful to the Christian faith.
