Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has addressed the ongoing political crisis in the state, making reference to his estranged godfather, Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
In a recent statement, Fubara responded to Wike’s assertion that installing him as governor was a mistake that will be corrected.
Governor Fubara expressed his sentiments, saying, “I am the only Governor all over the Federation where the Local Government Chairman will come out (publicly) and abuse me, I take it but I wish them well.”
Fubara’s outburst of the challenges he faces in his leadership position, with even local government chairmen openly criticizing him.
Regarding Wike’s statement, Fubara responded, “Even if it is a mistake (my emergence as a Governor), by the special grace of God, I am here today. God doesn’t make mistakes. Let me also appeal to them, let them continue to make mistakes.”
Fubara believes his position as governor is divinely ordained and that he will not be swayed by criticisms or attempts to undermine his authority.
The political crisis in Rivers State continues to unfold, with factions within the ruling party and opposition groups vying for power and influence.
