The Lagos State Government has said it will not back down on moving destitute people to their home states to make Lagos safer.
This is coming in the wake of criticism from the Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The government insists it only helped some individuals who willingly asked to return home, and denies forcibly deporting anyone.
This comes after reports of hundreds of youths being dropped off in Ilesa, Osun State, allegedly after being rounded up in Lagos.
Governor Adeleke slammed the action and spoke with Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who disavowed any involvement and promised a probe.
The Osun State government has directed its security agencies to keep tabs on the situation and track the relocated individuals.
Lagos Government insist that its actions are crucial for public safety and security, and will continue rehabilitating and relocating miscreants and destitute individuals.
