Passengers Lynch Customs Officer for Shooting Passenger to Death

A customs officer was lynched by passengers of a truck traveling along the Katsina-Dankama road in Kaita Local Government Area of the state.

The truck, carrying passengers to Dankama town, refused to stop when customs officials attempted to halt it.

In the ensuing confrontation, a customs officer allegedly shot and injured a passenger named Bashir Na-Buzuwa.

The truck eventually stopped, prompting the passengers to confront the customs officers, resulting in the death of the shooter, identified as Auwal Haruna.

Sadly, Bashir Na-Buzuwa, 27, succumbed to his injuries. Na-Buzuwa, originally from Doro town in Bindawa LGA and residing in Zanguna, Katsina city, was among the victims.

The Customs Public Relations Officer in Katsina State, SC Tahir Balarabe, confirmed the incident and stated that an official statement would be issued, with efforts underway to retrieve the deceased officer’s remains.
