It was gathered by Hobnob News reports that the video clips of some Local Government chairmen and their deputies in Rivers State chanting support for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressives Congress, APC are fueling new insinuations on the political inclinations of Mr Nyesom Wike, the minister of the FCT.
Wike had until now been the undisputed leader of the PDP and the APC in Rivers State. However, the increasing assertions of his successor Simi Fubara have begun to untangle Wike’s authority leading to insinuations that what is left of his troops in the local governments who were all elected on the platform of the PDP may be finding their way out of the party.
Apparently, the video clips that recently surfaced saw the local government chiefs elected on the platform of the PDP chorusing PDP and APC in an open demonstration of their loyalty to Wike who is himself serving an APC administration at the federal level.
The internet is now buzzing with speculations as to the intention of Wike and his troops.
A commenter, @Thompson_Ighalo, exclaimed, “He shocked me. She shouted PDP, they answered APC. What is going on here?”
The outgoing chairmen and vice-chairmen were appointed by Wike as governor.
Wike backed House of Assembly had recently removed the powers of the governor in appointing and controlling the appointment of caretaker chairmen.The loyalty of the local government officials appear to lie more with Minister Wike fueling speculations as to their possible intentions out of the PDP.

Wike is not bigger than PDP rather he is bigger than certain individuals in the party leadership.
@ledogo: If the PDP NWC directed that all the party exco whose tenures expired should be converted to CTC for 3 months and that no changes should made, then the National Publicity Secretary went and published a different list that is purely Wike’s interest, is that not a merger with APC?
