The Federal Government has initiated the collection of feedback from Nigerian citizens through its newly upgraded Citizens’ Delivery Tracker App, aimed at empowering citizens to monitor government projects.
Introduced by the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, Hadiza Bala-Usman, the app was unveiled in Abuja.
While it is currently accessible at app.cdcu.gov.ng, it will soon be available on Google Play Store and Apple Store within the next month.
Developed by the Central Delivery Coordination Unit (CDCU) in consultation with various stakeholders, the upgraded application offers citizens insights into priority projects, policies, and programs of the Federal Government. Bala-Usman highlighted its role in establishing a robust feedback mechanism between citizens and the government, focusing on the eight priority areas outlined by the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
The unveiling marks the culmination of a process initiated since Tinubu’s announcement of ministerial assessments at the Cabinet Retreat for ministers and heads of government agencies last November.
Early reports indicate that Nigerians have swiftly begun utilizing the app to express their sentiments. One commendation acknowledged the efforts of the Minister of Works and Housing, Umahi, on the Lagos 3rd Mainland Bridge while urging similar attention to the Ibadan-Ife-Ilesa Expressway.
Conversely, dissatisfaction was voiced regarding the performance of the Minister of Power, Adebayo, with complaints about erratic power supply.
Suggestions for improvement were also made, such as urging the Minister of Education, Mamman, to institute a monthly training program for teachers, particularly in technical fields, to keep pace with evolving technology.
Additionally, citizens called for increased visibility of the Ministry of Information and National Orientation, advocating for greater engagement with mainstream media and social media platforms to foster national cohesion.
