Mr Reno Omokri, a socio-poIitical analyst, has faulted President Bola Tinubu’s meeting with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
After their performance at the just-concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Ivory Coast, where they finished second, the President met with the players in Abuja on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Tinubu announced national awards (Member of the Order of the Niger, MON) to each of them.
According to Hobnob News reports, the honours bestowed on them also included flats in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and piece of land.The delegation to the presidency was led by the Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, including officials of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
However, Omokri was of the opinion that Tinubu should have motivated the players with the promise of bestowing such significant honours on them before their game against Ivory Coast, insisting that they would have been more gingered to play.
