Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, were among the distinguished guests who attended the book launch of award-winning author Chimamanda Adichie’s latest children’s book.
The event, which took place in Lagos on Friday, aimed at promoting a reading culture among Nigerian children. The launch of Adichie’s book, titled “Mama’s Sleeping Scarf,” was part of an event called “Christmas Magic.”
The presence of notable personalities such as President Olusegun Obasanjo, Dr Datti Baba-Ahmed, Prof Hakeem Bello-Osagie, Dr Oby Ezekwesili, Bella Disu, Ndidi Nwuneli, Chimamanda’s husband Ivara Esege, and others added to the significance of the occasion.
Peter Obi, who shared photos from the event on his social media page, expressed his delight in being a part of such a remarkable gathering. He also praised Adichie for her efforts in reinforcing the reading culture among Nigerian youth and children.
Chimamanda Adichie is a globally recognized author renowned for her literary works such as ‘Purple Hibiscus,’ ‘Americanah,’ and ‘Half Of A Yellow Sun.’ Her latest book aims to captivate young readers with an engaging story and promote a love for reading.
