Governor Yahaya Bello Approves N497 Million for 2023 WAEC Exam Fees

In a statement released by the Kogi State government, Governor Yahaya Bello has approved the immediate disbursement of N497 million for the 2023 WAEC examination fees for students in public schools. The initiative is in line with the government’s commitment to providing free education from primary to secondary level, which will help achieve the “Zero Out-of-School Policy” in the state.

The disbursement of the funds will benefit a total of 15,033 students across the state, with the highest number of beneficiaries being in Dekina. The students will be able to write their WAEC exams without having to worry about the financial burden of registration fees.

The Kogi State government is also taking steps to ensure that parents enroll their children in school. The government has warned that parents who fail to do so will face penalties, which will ensure active participation in education.

The Kogi State government has demonstrated its commitment to providing quality education for its citizens, and this new initiative is a step in the right direction. The government’s investment in education will not only benefit students but will also have a positive impact on the state’s economy in the future.
