Popular Nigerian artiste, Davido, found himself in a heated Twitter battle with netizens as he expressed his views on the state of Nigerian politics with some shading him over what they claimed as his anti-APC stance.
The exchange began when the Afrobeats singer posted a tweet highlighting the intricacies of Nigeria’s political landscape. In response to his tweet, a user named @lexyy4real accused Davido of only commenting when judgments favored the All Progressives Congress (APC) party.
Davido swiftly defended himself, emphasizing that he had not mentioned any specific judgment and questioned the loyalty of those defending political figures.
Another user, @RealAdeshina, criticized Davido, urging him to act his age and stop getting involved in political discussions.
Unfazed, Davido cleverly retorted, questioning the user’s sudden freedom from a figurative “cage” and humorously renaming him “Bingo.” The exchange highlighted the intensity of political discussions in the country and showcased Davido’s ability to respond with wit and confidence.
Hobnob News reports that the twitter exchange with Davido at the centre of insinuations of being anti-APC flows from his past political exposures when he had to come out in defence of his popular family which is among the most politically exposed families in Osun State where his uncle is governor and two another uncle a former governor and three of his uncles as senators and his grandfather a senator.
