The newly sworn in Minister of Works, Engr David Umahi has vowed that roads constructed under the President Bola Tinubu- led administration, will last at least 6 years before any repair is carried out.
Umahi, the immediate past Governor of Ebonyi State made this known at a reception organised in his honour by the Ebonyi State Government, in Abuja, yesterday.
A statement signed by the Director of Information, Press and Public Relations of the Ministry, Blessing Lanre-Adams quoted the minister as assuring road users that during his tenure as the Minister of Works, he will make sure that federal roads are put in proper conditions for the benefit of all Nigerians
She said Umahi expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for finding him worthy of the appointment.
“Let me thank Mr President so much, I also ask the people of the South East to thank him, Mr President has shown us love, Mr President has shown us inclusiveness, Mr President has challenged us”, the Minister of works was quoted as saying.
He also vowed that under his watch, Nigerians will witness vigour, diligence and commitment to road Infrastructural development.
