President Bola Tinubu expressed his unwavering commitment to safeguarding the country from the economic ruin orchestrated by enemies of the nation. During a reception organized by the Lagos State Government, Tinubu emphasized the need to put an end to the bleeding of the country’s finances through oil subsidies and arbitrary exchange rates.
“We cannot allow the continued depletion of our resources through fuel subsidies. We must restructure the management and control of our resources to fulfill our promises to Nigerians,” Tinubu asserted. He made it clear that he would not partake in any form of arbitrage or personal gain at the expense of the nation, emphasizing that his purpose as a leader is to serve the Nigerian people.
Tinubu further assured Nigerians of his administration’s dedication to introducing new and improved initiatives for the betterment of both adults and the youth, who represent the future of the country. He pledged to collaborate with the National Assembly and state governors, advocating for a true separation of powers to fulfill the renewed hope agenda.
In response to Tinubu’s remarks, President of the Senate, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, affirmed his commitment to working alongside the executive arm of government to ensure Nigerians enjoy the dividends of democracy. Akpabio praised Tinubu’s transformative plans for the country, expressing that had they known his intentions earlier, they would not have contested against him in the party primaries.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State also voiced their support for Tinubu’s policies and programs, acknowledging the importance of state governors’ backing in realizing a better Nigeria. Former governor Raji Fashola, representing past governors of Lagos state, assured Tinubu of their unwavering loyalty and readiness to serve under his administration.In a show of solidarity, members of the National Assembly and governors stood together on the podium, demonstrating their support for President Tinubu and his vision for the country.
