A man in Adamawa State has been arraigned for dressing as a woman and defrauding men of their money.

The man, Muhammed Abubakar, confessed to routinely dressing in women’s clothing and goes out with female friends in attempt to obtain money from men needing romance.

Muhammed holds a Diploma in Business Management from the Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola,he said his female collaborators gave him between N500 and N1,500 daily as his share from their fraudulent activities.

Muhammed,said he adopted the female name, Fadi, told the Chief Magistrate Court in Girei where he was arraigned, that his female accomplice used to protect him each time any man want to have him.They do this by telling the man that she (he) was in her menstrual period.

It was learnt yesterday, November 22, 2022, that Muhammed’s game ended on November 16, 2022, at Girei market. He went to buy an earring and was seen by a man who suspected that he was a man.

The suspicious man raised the alarm and he was arrested.

The court presided over by Martina Gregory and ordered that he be remanded until December 5, 2022.

In another development,  a 29-year-old unemployed man, identified as Bolanle Afeez, was arraigned in court over an alleged N5.5 million car fraud.

The suspect appeared before the an Ikeja Magistrates’ court on Monday, September 12, 2022.

The police who had charged the suspect to the court said, he resides at 3, Otunnibi St., Ifako Ijaiye in Lagos State.

The Prosecution Counsel, Olusegun Oke, told the court that Afeez on July 2, at Agidingbi, Ikeja, visited the complainant, Adewale Awotunde, a car dealer, and asked for a Hyundai Sonata car worth N5.5 million.

He alleged that the defendant pretended to have transferred the money by showing the complainant a debit alert of N5.5 million from his phone.

Oke said that the complainant did not receive the alert but he assumed it was network fluctuating since the sender had been debited.

“The car documents were issued to the defendant and he left with the car,” Mr Oke said.

The prosecutor said that when the complainant went to the bank, he was told no money had been sent to him.

The prosecutor further said that the defendant was arrested while trying to sell the car to another man.

He said the offense contravenes the provisions of sections 287 and 314 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015, for which the defendant pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, M.C Ayinde, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until August 16 for mention.
