Dalung: Edun’s Exit Shows No One Is Safe in Tinubu’s Inner Circle

A former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, , has said the recent dismissal of Finance Minister, , signals that no member of President ’s inner circle is guaranteed security in office.

Dalung made the assertion while reacting to Edun’s exit, despite his long-standing relationship with the president. The development has generated mixed reactions, with conflicting accounts surrounding the circumstances of the minister’s departure.

While an official statement indicated that Edun stepped down due to health concerns, reports have also suggested that he may have been removed from his position by the president.

Commenting on the situation, Dalung expressed skepticism over the official narrative, stating that there was more to the development than what had been publicly disclosed.

“I agree with them that he stepped down because of health issues, as that’s what their media statement says,” Dalung told reporters.

“But the truth is more than what they’re sharing with the people of Nigeria,” he added.

The former minister further emphasized Edun’s close working relationship with Tinubu, noting that the development underscores a pattern within the administration.

“This method serves a function similar to Tinubu as Wale Edun. He has been collaborating with Tinubu for a long time,” Dalung said.

“This method makes sure that no one near Tinubu is protected.”

Dalung’s remarks have added to the growing public discourse surrounding Edun’s exit and raised questions about stability and trust within the president’s inner circle.
