The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the official analysis of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results. The breakdown, shared on Monday morning, details candidates’ performance across various score ranges.
According to the analysis, 4,756 candidates scored 320 and above, accounting for just 0.24% of the total candidates. Another 7,658 candidates scored between 300 and 319, making up 0.39%. Combining the two categories, a total of 12,414 candidates, or 0.63%, achieved scores of 300 and above.
In the 250 – 299 range, 73,441 candidates (3.76%) performed within that bracket. The majority, 334,560 candidates, scored between 200 and 249, representing 17.11%. Over half of the candidates, 983,187 individuals (50.29%), scored between 160 and 199.
In the 140 – 159 range, 488,197 candidates (24.97%) were placed, and 57,419 candidates (2.94%) scored between 120 and 139. A smaller group, 3,820 candidates (0.20%), scored between 100 and 119, while 2,031 candidates (0.10%) scored below 100.
In total, 1,955,069 candidates sat for the 2025 UTME. Additionally, 40,247 underage candidates participated, with only 467 (1.16%) meeting the criteria for exceptional ability. Their performance in the subsequent stages is still under review.
The report also revealed that 97 candidates were involved in examination infractions, while 2,157 candidates are under investigation for suspected malpractice. Furthermore, 71,701 candidates were absent, and some faced biometric challenges, with investigations ongoing.
Some results, including those for blind candidates and those in the JEOG candidates group, are still being processed. A press conference to announce individual results and guide result checking will take place later this week.
