Engr. Conrad Terhide Utaan, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Senatorial Candidate for Benue North-West Senatorial District, has urged the Nongov Youth Association (NOYA) to shun partisan politics and prioritise unity, collective interests and the development of the Nongov Nation.
Utaan made the call in an address presented on his behalf by Christian C. Asema, Director of Media and Public Communications and Campaign Spokesperson of the Engr. Conrad Utaan Campaign Organisation, at the NOYA Day Celebration 2026 and the launch of a ₦50 million appeal fund for the construction of the association’s hall.

Speaking on the theme, “The Nongov of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” Utaan commended the leadership and members of NOYA for their commitment to unity, community development and the progress of the Nongov people.
He noted that the theme underscored the importance of preserving the community’s cultural heritage, recognising the contributions of previous generations and working collectively towards a better future for generations yet unborn.
The senatorial candidate urged NOYA to remain a unifying platform for all Nongov sons and daughters, irrespective of their political affiliations, stressing that political differences should not be allowed to undermine their common identity, unity and shared aspirations.
According to him, the association should rise above political divisions and concentrate on issues that promote the collective welfare, interests and development of the Nongov Nation.

Utaan also described the proposed NOYA Hall as more than a physical structure, saying it represents unity, collective responsibility and a lasting legacy for future generations and called on well-meaning Nongov sons and daughters, friends and supporters of the community to contribute generously towards the successful completion of the project. He personally made a cash donation of One Million Naira to facilitate the construction of the hall.
Reaffirming his commitment to community advancement, youth development and inclusive leadership, Utaan acknowledged the role of associations such as NOYA in promoting peace, solidarity and meaningful development.
He congratulated the NOYA leadership and members on the celebration, expressing hope that the occasion would strengthen communal bonds, renew commitment to their shared heritage and inspire greater achievements.
He concluded with a call for collective efforts towards building a united, progressive and prosperous Nongov Nation.
The address was signed by Christian C. Asema on behalf of Engr. Conrad Terhide Utaan.
