An Accord Party chieftain, Jagunmolu, has warned that Governor Ademola Adeleke could face complications in the Osun governorship contest despite securing victory at the polls, citing an ongoing leadership dispute within the party.
Jagunmolu said the internal crisis in Accord Party has triggered legal battles between rival factions. According to him, the dispute, which had previously reached the Court of Appeal, is now before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
He said the faction led by Imumolen remains confident of securing a favourable judgment in the case.
Jagunmolu argued that the eventual outcome of the legal proceedings could have implications for the Osun governorship contest, urging voters to look beyond the election results and consider the broader political and legal developments surrounding the race.
However, he did not provide details on how a judgment concerning Accord Party’s internal leadership dispute would directly affect Adeleke’s candidacy, electoral victory or continued eligibility for office.
