France head coach Didier Deschamps has reportedly denied his players’ request for a night out ahead of Saturday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup third-place playoff against England.
According to French outlet L’Equipe, the players had hoped for a free evening to help them unwind following their disappointing 2-0 semi-final defeat to Spain earlier this week.
Deschamps, however, rejected the proposal, determined to ensure his side finishes the tournament on a positive note rather than suffering consecutive defeats.
The French squad arrived in Miami on Thursday after leaving their training base in Boston as preparations intensified for the clash with England.
England also enter the third-place match looking to recover from semi-final heartbreak after falling 2-1 to Argentina on Wednesday.
