The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the reported death of celebrated Nollywood actor, .

A reliable Nollywood source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed to Daily Post that the actor was rushed to an undisclosed hospital on Monday after his health reportedly deteriorated suddenly.

According to the source, Ekubo had been privately battling kidney cancer for some time. Despite efforts by medical personnel to stabilize his condition, the actor was placed on life support for several hours before he reportedly passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon.

The heartbreaking development comes months after speculations emerged about the actor’s health and prolonged absence from public life. Rumours first surfaced in May 2025 suggesting that the Nollywood star was facing serious health challenges after he disappeared from social media and public events.
