KAMDA to Host 2026 National Day Celebrations in Aliade, Launch ₦50m Secretariat Fund

The Kasev Masev Development Association (KAMDA) has announced plans to host its 2026 National Day Celebrations on Saturday, May 2, at SS Peter and Paul Parish, Aliade, with proceedings scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.

In a joint statement issued in Aliade, the National President, , and National Secretary, , said the event will be held under the theme, “Masev Women: Holding Up Masev Nation, Building One People and a United State of Masev.”

They explained that the celebration is aimed at bringing together Masev women, as well as men, youths, and families from across Nigeria and the diaspora, to promote unity, cultural identity, and collective development.

A major highlight of the event will be the launch of a ₦50 million KAMDA Secretariat Appeal Fund. According to the association, the initiative is intended to support the construction of a permanent national secretariat, which it described as vital for strengthening its administrative structure and enhancing community development efforts.

The programme will also feature the unveiling of the KAMDA Mirror Magazine, described as a flagship publication that will serve as the voice of the Kasev Masev people globally. The magazine is expected to document cultural heritage, track development initiatives, and spotlight notable individuals contributing to the growth of the community.

In addition, KAMDA will confer Outstanding Leadership Awards on selected indigenes in recognition of their contributions to community development, public service, and the promotion of Masev cultural values.

The event will further showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Masev people through traditional dances, exhibitions of cultural attire, and displays of indigenous cuisine.

Speaking on the significance of the celebration, Mrs. Apusu said the National Day goes beyond festivities and focuses on long-term development goals.

“This National Day is about more than celebration. It is about consolidating our identity and building institutions that will serve future generations,” she said, while calling on Masev indigenes at home and abroad to participate in the event.
