The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed as false a widely circulated result slip claiming that a candidate scored 396 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement issued on Sunday, JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, expressed concern that even well-informed Nigerians were sharing the fabricated result.
He clarified that UTME results are strictly view-only, noting that the viral slip was generated using a fake template—an immediate red flag indicating it is not genuine.
Benjamin also pointed out that JAMB registration numbers are system-generated and do not follow the “20269” format seen on the fake document.
He added that several other inconsistencies clearly expose the result as fraudulent and urged the public to ignore such misinformation and rely solely on official JAMB channels for accurate updates.
