A former governorship candidate in Kogi State, Dino Melaye, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would be unable to secure up to 15 percent of the votes in the state during the 2027 general elections.
Melaye made the assertion while expressing confidence in the electoral strength of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), insisting that he would personally deliver Kogi State to the party.
According to him, the political dynamics in Kogi have shifted significantly, adding that the ruling party’s influence in the state would diminish ahead of the next election cycle.
“I will deliver Kogi State for ADC in 2027. Bola Ahmed Tinubu cannot secure 15 percent of the votes in the state,” Melaye stated.
His comments come amid growing political realignments and early positioning by opposition figures ahead of the 2027 elections. Analysts say such bold claims reflect intensifying competition among parties seeking to strengthen their foothold across key states.
As political activities gradually build toward 2027, Kogi State is expected to remain a battleground, with parties strategizing to secure voter support in what could become a tightly contested race.
