Aondoakaa, Rufai Oseni Clash on Live TV Over Party Loyalty, 2027 Politics

A dramatic exchange unfolded on Arise News ‘Morning Show’ on Wednesday as presenter Rufai Oseni and former Attorney General, Michael Aondoakaa, engaged in a heated debate over party allegiance, defection, and the political outlook ahead of 2027.

What began as a routine interview quickly escalated into a tense confrontation when Oseni questioned Aondoakaa’s political stance, describing it as contradictory for supporting a president from another party while being aligned with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Responding firmly, Aondoakaa dismissed any suggestion that his decisions were influenced by Hyacinth Alia, insisting that his actions were guided strictly by constitutional rights.

“The Constitution guarantees my freedom of association,” Aondoakaa said, stressing that his political choices were independent and not tied to any perceived rivalry with the Benue State governor.

The former Attorney General further defended his comments about Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that he only acknowledged the economic impact of the removal of fuel subsidy, which he described as a “robust foundation” benefiting states across party lines.

Tensions peaked as Oseni repeatedly attempted to interject, while Aondoakaa pushed back, accusing the host of consistently linking his political decisions to Governor Alia.

“I have no business with Alia,” Aondoakaa declared, rejecting claims that his defection or ambitions were connected to the governor’s political moves.

He also emphasized his right to pursue political ambitions in any party, questioning why such decisions were being interpreted as opposition to Alia.

The exchange highlighted deepening political divisions and sensitivities ahead of future elections, with both men holding their ground in what turned into a fiery on-air debate that has since drawn widespread public attention.
