The Bauchi State Government has distributed relief materials to victims of recent communal clashes in Sansan and Garin Babbaji villages, located in Zaki Local Government Area.
Hobnob News reports that the intervention follows a wave of violence that erupted last week in the area after the killing of a commercial motorcyclist. The incident reportedly triggered a series of retaliatory attacks between the two communities, leading to displacement and destruction of property.
In response, the state government moved to provide immediate assistance to affected residents, supplying essential relief items aimed at alleviating their suffering and supporting recovery efforts.
Officials emphasized the government’s commitment to restoring peace and ensuring the safety of lives and property in the affected communities. They also called on residents to embrace dialogue and peaceful coexistence to prevent further escalation of tensions.
Security measures have reportedly been strengthened in the area, while efforts are ongoing to mediate between the communities and address the root causes of the conflict.
