Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has felicitated with Muslim faithful across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr 2026, calling for renewed commitment to compassion, unity, and national development.
In a statement shared via his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday, Obi congratulated Muslims on successfully completing the holy month of Ramadan, describing the period as one of deep reflection, sacrifice, and spiritual renewal.
He urged the Muslim community to sustain the values of kindness, generosity, and selflessness cultivated during Ramadan, emphasizing the need to extend support to the less privileged in society.
According to him, the essence of Eid should go beyond celebration, serving as a reminder of the collective responsibility to build a more just and equitable nation.
Obi also called on Nigerians to work together in promoting peace, justice, and progress, stressing that unity and shared purpose remain critical to overcoming the country’s challenges.
He reaffirmed his belief in a better Nigeria, encouraging citizens across religious and ethnic lines to remain hopeful and committed to national development.
The message comes as Muslims across the country join millions worldwide in marking the end of Ramadan with prayers, feasting, and acts of charity.
