Opposition Alliance Could Unseat Tinubu in 2027 – Dele Momodu

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, Dele Momodu, has said that a strong opposition alliance ahead of the 2027 general elections could defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Momodu stated that a coalition ticket featuring former Vice President Atiku Abubakar alongside a prominent southern political figure could significantly challenge the ruling party’s chances in the next presidential poll.

According to him, if the opposition parties are able to unite and present a formidable ticket, they could rally widespread national support capable of unseating the incumbent administration.

He suggested that a joint ticket pairing Atiku with a notable southern politician such as Peter Obi or Rotimi Amaechi would create a strong political balance and attract voters from different regions of the country.

Momodu argued that such an alliance would considerably diminish the prospects of the ruling party by consolidating opposition votes and presenting Nigerians with a united alternative.

He emphasized that the success of the opposition in 2027 would largely depend on their willingness to set aside differences and work together toward a common political objective.

The 2027 general election is expected to feature intense political maneuvering as parties and political figures begin early consultations and alliances aimed at strengthening their chances at the polls.
