Edo 2027: Only APC posters will be allowed in Edo state, Okpebholo Warns Opposition
Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has warned that only All Progressives Congress (APC) posters will be allowed in the state ahead of the 2027 elections, with consequences for anyone promoting other parties.
Okpebholo claims the opposition will collapse before 2027, with many joining the APC due to developmental achievements. He’s urged opposition candidates to decamp to APC, saying “If they give you money, take it and vote for the APC. The money is our money”.
The governor’s aide, Aghahowa Collins, stated that Edo is an APC-controlled state, and anyone promoting another party would face consequences. Okpebholo has also directed public office holders with political ambitions to resign, citing the Electoral Act.
Okpebholo vows to deliver 2.5 million votes to President Bola Tinubu in 2027, claiming Edo is “completely for Tinubu”. He attributes the APC’s growing strength to “visible and practical development” in the state.
The APC has been receiving decampees from other parties, with Okpebholo expressing confidence in the party’s dominance.
