The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has vowed to bring normalcy to Nigeria’s electoral system. National Chairman, Yusuf Dantalle, made this vow on Friday during an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ .
Dantalle expressed concerns over the controversial Electoral Amendment Act, stating that IPAC will rise to address issues affecting the country’s electoral system. The council has threatened to boycott the 2027 general elections if the National Assembly fails to amend key provisions of the Electoral Act 2026 ² ³.
IPAC’s demands include restoring indirect primaries, strengthening penalties for vote buying, and reinstating forged certificates as grounds for election petitions. The council also insists on mandatory electronic transmission of election results after announcement at polling units .
