SafERR Ambassadors Carry Out First Aid and Emergency Response Advocacy at TCN Benin Region

The SafERR Global Ambassadors Network (SGAN) on Tuesday, 27th January 2026, conducted a safety advocacy programme on Basic First Aid and Emergency Response at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Benin Region, located along Sapele Road, Benin City, Edo State.

The advocacy team was formally introduced by Amb. Dcn. Dr. Theodore Osas Ehannire, MSGI, Governor of the SafERR Global Ambassadors Network, Edo Region, following a courtesy visit to the General Manager of TCN Benin Region, Engr. C. C. Iwuamadi.



Members of the advocacy team included:

Amb. Blessing Adoghe, ASGI

Mr. Charles Emekwumah

Mr. Austin Emovon

The programme commenced at 10:30am and ended at 1:00pm, with a total of 65 participants in attendance. Participants were first introduced to the SafERR Network, its mission, and its commitment to promoting safety, emergency preparedness, and health awareness across all sectors.

The scope of First Aid: Diagnosis, Management, and Disposal

Who a First Aider is

Actions at Emergency using the DRSABCD approach

Management of fainting cases

Participants, which included members of the NYSC–WSO SafERR CDS Group, Oredo Local Government Area, Edo State, were further trained through practical demonstrations on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The session covered when and how to administer chest compressions and rescue breaths (mouth-to-mouth resuscitation) for infants, children, and adults, as well as clear guidance on when to stop CPR.

The advocacy exercise concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, after which the management and staff of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, Benin Region, expressed their appreciation to the SafERR Global Ambassadors Network and the World Safety Organization (WSO), Nigeria, for their valuable contribution to promoting safety and health awareness.
