Buba Galadima, a former ally of late President Muhammadu Buhari, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu would lose the 2027 presidential election if the process is free and fair.
Galadima also argued that no candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) stands a chance of winning the next election under a transparent and credible electoral process.
Speaking during an interview on Trust TV, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) chieftain said the APC has lost the support of ordinary Nigerians, particularly farmers.
“There is no APC presidential candidate in 2027 that can genuinely secure the people’s mandate if the election is free and fair. Tinubu will not win under such conditions,” he said.
He accused the Tinubu administration of deliberately undermining agriculture, insisting that farmers across the country are deeply dissatisfied with government policies.
“No farmer will vote for the APC government. This government has destroyed agriculture and removed incentives for farmers,” Galadima stated.
He cited the rising cost of farm inputs and falling crop prices as evidence, noting that fertiliser now sells for about ₦70,000 per bag, while a bag of millet goes for roughly ₦16,000, maize over ₦20,000, and beans around ₦36,000.
According to him, the imbalance has made farming unprofitable and discouraging. “There is no incentive for anyone to go to the farm next year. When the government chooses to import what Nigerians can produce locally, it crashes prices and creates serious problems,” he added.
Galadima concluded that under current conditions, farmers would overwhelmingly reject President Tinubu and the APC at the polls.
