The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has commenced lectures at the Northwest University, Kano, after enrolling as a 200-level law student.
Hobnob News Nigeria reports that the monarch joined other undergraduate students for classes on Tuesday, attracting attention as he sat among his peers dressed in a black flowing outfit and a white turban.
His return to the classroom comes a few weeks after the Northwest University offered him a special admission into its Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme in Common and Sharia Law.
The management of the institution explained that the admission was granted in recognition of the Emir’s vast experience in governance, economics and public service, which it said would enrich academic engagement within the faculty.
According to Hobnob News, Northwest University, Kano, was established in 2012 and is one of the two universities owned by the Kano State Government.
