Atiku Abubakar on Sunday posted photos of his visit to former President Goodluck Jonathan on his social media accounts, describing the meeting as a warm and enjoyable reunion.
The former Vice President met with Jonathan at his Abuja home on Saturday, marking their first publicly reported interaction since Jonathan returned from his election monitoring mission in Guinea-Bissau.

“It was a delight reconnecting with former President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday evening after his return from Guinea-Bissau,” Atiku wrote.
The visit came shortly after Atiku’s official defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
He explained that his departure from his former party was driven by what he described as a drift from its founding principles, a move that aligns with ongoing discussions about political reconfiguration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
There are growing indications that Atiku may emerge as the coalition’s presidential flagbearer in the next electoral cycle.
The ADC has been working to present itself as a viable alternative to Nigeria’s major political parties and has been recruiting influential political figures as it strengthens its national reach.
